Ming (Martin) Ma

Ma Ming (Martin) like his brother Ma Jian, was born into basketball family. His father was a successful coach at Tianjin men's basketball team and Hebei men's basketball team. Martin played professionally in the CBA league and also starred as the first Chinese player to play in the prestigious UAAP league in the Phillipines where he studied business and marketing at Ateneo de Manila University.


Following a successful playing career Martin pursued a career in the business side of sport. He has been General Manager of CBA team, Liaoning Panpan club, national marketing manager for Nike China Basketball, where he established the Nike High School Basketball League as well as the first sponsorship contract of the national men and women's teams. He also worked for leading sports marketing firm Infront Sports & Media. 


In 2007 he established Beijing Landing Sports devoted to the development of Chinese youth basketball. He established the Beijing BLS Cup which has become the most influential basketball tournament in Beijing, covering 2,143 schools and more than 20,000 young basketball players. He also developed and hosted basketball programs for Euroleague in Beijing which included coaching clinics, referee training and a tournament where over 140 high schools participated.
